WOODWORKING

This site is a collection of Photos of some of my Woodworking. I started this when I retired from CN Rail in 1987 after 39 years service in the Signals & Communication Dept.. I am now into my third Workshop  located in Ingersoll Ont. Canada

The first page is photos of the workshop. The shop is 22' by 28' with 9' ceiling, insulated, and heated with an overhead gas radiant heater. The router table, finished in Cherry was described as a little decadent for a workshop. Another observer said a garage can have nice furniture. I think Martha Stewart would be pleased with the matching decor on the cherry drawer fronts. The large tool cabinet was from Tolpins Book " The Toolbox Book " with some variations.

The remaining pages are some of the projects built since 1987.These are thumbnails, click on them to enlarge. I started working in maple and walnut, now most projects are in cherry with a clear finish. The drawers are dovetailed front & back. Five of the blanket boxes were done, the three for the granddaughters have there name & birth date carved on the inside of the lid , outline of a rose on the top & two hidden drawers. The projects go to relatives, some go to Charity Auctions.

The toys were started for the grandkids from scraps. An organization wanted some for needy kids . Now there are 5organizations, this year ( 2002 ) I have about 150 ready. I now get scraps from other wood workers. The local Kiwanis Club helps with the funding for the wheels and other parts. In 2003 I sent out 190 toys to 5 organizations
